Feature Artist, December 2025:
Brenda Bryant

"I am fortunate enough to live in the Tweed Valley with views of the Border Ranges and Wollumbin. I spend a lot of time walking in the numerous subtropical rainforests in National Parks such as Mebbin, Couchy Creek, Binna Burra and Lamington. These rainforests are part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, which is World Heritage Listed. After my retirement from the workforce some 12 years ago, I took art classes for the first time in Murwillumbah, and found that I had found something in myself that I didn't know existed. I now paint in oil on canvas, and specialise in painting the rainforests that I so love. I hope that viewers of my work can feel the peace and tranquillity that I feel when walking through these rainforests."

Brenda spent a week’s holiday at Iluka recently and was delighted with the charm and beauty of this beautiful historic fishing village. As well as the coastline, Iluka surprised her with the ancient subtropical rainforest of the Bundjalung National Park.

Please step into a vibrant celebration of nature at this art exhibition, where the lush mysteries of rainforests meet the tranquil beauty of the coastline. This exhibition showcases a diverse collection of artworks that capture the intricate patterns, vivid colours, and dynamic life found within rainforest ecosystems, not only in Iluka but other beauty spots in the Northern Rivers.

Brenda will be at the Emporium for a meet and greet on Saturday 6th December from 10am – 12pm.
