'Vicki Gaillard'
MOSAIC ARTIST
Please come into the Iluka Emporium during October to view the stunning Mosaics of Vicki Gaillard.
Vicki Gaillard…….MISS VICKI MOSAICS
It was always my intention to begin mosaic art on my retirement. Subsequently retirement to Iluka has provided me with endless inspiration.
Iluka’s wealth of nature is precious and worth celebrating. The abundant birdlife of the shoreline and forests , the water dwellers of our waterways and the environment that protects and feeds them is my constant inspiration.
You will therefore see parrots, pelicans, eagles, turtles and other sea creatures represented in my mosaic art.
I like to make art that is also functional, thus tables, birdfeeders, birdbaths, plant pots, and letterboxes have all become part of my repertoire. Many of these are able to be made from recycled materials which again I believe to be a positive outcome. Thanks to all those Ilukans who have donated old 70’s and 80’s tiles after renovating!!
I welcome commissions, and enjoy the challenge of creating whatever you have in mind.
I adopted the name ‘MISS VICKI MOSIACS ‘after helping year 6 students from Iluka public school create commemorative pavers to mark their last year in Primary School. In their final assembly where they displayed their work I really liked the sound of being referred to as Miss Vicki .
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it, and thanks to The Emporium for providing the opportunity to display my Artwork.
These items are perfectly suited to many homes around Iluka, depicting scenes we all love.
